Hi ladies

Here is the information relating to the additional classes that I will be running at the Retreat.

Nature Layout – 7:30pm Friday night.  Cost $15 (full kit supplied)

This layout suits any photos of wildlife, outdoors, gardens and holiday photos.

You will need to bring the following items:

4 photos in total….all measuring 13 x 9cm(a bit smaller than a 6x4”).  Two of the photos are portrait orientation and the other two are landscape orientation.  Very important to have those orientations due to the design of the layout.  Black & white photos will work well, but by all means if you have photo colours that suit, then bring coloured photos.

Your basic tool kit (scissors, ruler, trimmer, pencil, double sided tape)
Foam tape
Small foam or glue dots(1/4”)
Gel adhesive (Helmar 450 or similar – good thick clear glue that dries quickly)
Brown ink pad
Green ink pad (gum leaf green)
If you have a cuttlebug or similar machine for your own use, please bring it to save waiting time.

If you require any of these class requirements, I will have them for sale at the retreat.  Please let me
know if you would like anything put aside (except for basic tools)  I do have double sided tape.

About Me layout – 1:30pm Sunday afternoon.  Cost $15 (full kit supplied)

This is more of a feminine layout and can be about yourself, family, friends, even a formal photo
would suit.

Class requirements are:-

Photos – one 6x4 and two 3x4 photos….all portrait orientation.

Basic tool kit….trimmer, scissors, double sided tape, gel adhesive, ruler etc.
Spray mister bottle (I have these available in shop if required)
Foam tape

Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to do any of these classes.  You can pay for these at the retreat.

Don’t forget our “Back to School” theme night on Saturday night – we always have a lot of fun at our theme night, so I hope you will all join in.  Your costume can be as simple or lavish as you want – always a good opportunity for great photos for scrapping later!!  As usual we have prizes for the best costume and for the theme activity.  How many gold stars will you earn???  Our theme night always runs in conjunction with our scrapping, so there isn’t too much of a distraction from your work, but it’s always a fun opportunity to mix it up with everyone and have a laugh.  I’m wondering how many Kylie Mole’s we will have???

There are a few of you who I haven’t heard from about having a massage over the weekend; if you haven’t already let me know, can you please let me know either way it you are interested?  If you are not sure, then please advise as well; Nicole generally has availability for those who are undecided, but she does have to leave a bit earlier than normal so if we can get the timetable set for her for both days, it would help immensely.

For those of you who haven’t been to our retreats before, I will be sending out all of the info you need to know next week (how to get there, what time etc).  I still need a couple of you to return your Rego forms to me as well.

I look forward to hearing from you all soon re classes, massages and any queries.

Take are for now, Ann J

Kilcoy Retreat - Theme night

Hi everyone

Well it is about 6 weeks until our retreat at Kilcoy at all of our plans are underway for classes and activities for the weekend.

As usual, we will have our theme night on Saturday night and this retreat we will be having a Back to School theme.  I can see a really fun night coming up with this theme.  So I'm setting you some homework to do and find a great outfit so you can join in for a night of laughs.

Grab a tunic, the old school tie or hat, long socks or sports tunic; headband, practice your plaits or ponytails.....so many fun ways to bring back those old school memories.  Let's see who is going to get full marks with the best outfit for the night and earn a gold star or two!!

Check back on the blog regularly for updates and I will be in contact with you all regarding the requirements for the weekend.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Take care, Ann :-)

Kilcoy Guest Tutor - introducing Kim Jeffress

Hi everyone
As some of you may know, Kim Jeffress will be joining us at the Kilcoy Retreat to teach a class on Saturday 4th May. I thought you might like to know a little about Kim, so I have asked her a few questions about her scrapping c
areer so far:-

1. How did you start in Scrapbooking and how long have you been doing it?

I started scrapping about 12 years ago when I first met my husband, he worked out of town during the week so I took up scrapbooking to fill in the nights at home alone!

2. What do you enjoy most about scrapbooking?
I love that Im preserving my childrens' and my memories for the future.

3. What is your style?
I'm a pretty clean scrapper, having two boys I don't tend to add flowers and flourishes to my layouts. I like to use bold bright papers and add quirky bits and pieces to my layouts.

4. What are your favourite 3 products at the moment and what can’t you do without?
I love Heidi Swapp Memory Files, Heidi Swapp Color Pop collection and Bella Blvd chevron decorative tape. I can't do without anything yellow its my fav item to use on a page!

5. Where do you find inspiration for your layouts?
I get my inspiration from my boys, I look at the photos and create layouts according the memories I want to remember. I always colour match the papers to the photos

6. How do you get through Scrappers block?
I usually take a break for a couple of days and start a fresh with a new perspective.

7. What is the best advice you would give to newbie scrapbookers?
Take lots of photos and right down your memories in a book so you dont forget them.

8. What Design Teams have you been on or are currently with and where have you had your work published?
Currently I am on the DTs for Heidi Swapp, Bella Blvd, Basic Grey, Pebbles Inc and Greatest View flair. Last year I was a Scrapbooking memories magazine Master a highlight for me so far!

You can find me on my Blog: glasshalffull

Noosa Retreat photos

Hi all
Blogger has been giving me some trouble with uploading photos; not sure if it is to do with Windows 7 but hopefully issues have now been sorted.

I have been wanting to post photos of the Noosa Retreat weekend that we had in October.  As usual we had a ball and I thank every one of my lovely ladies for their company.

Here is some highlights of the weekend, including photos of our class teach Cathy Cafun and the resulting layouts, along with challenge photos and our theme night fun:-

As you can see, we had huge fun!  The Resort atmosphere added to the relaxing weekend of craft and laughter.  I can't wait until we return this year in October and this time we have 3 day packages available taking in the Labour Day long weekend.  Can't wait!!

Theme night....

Hi everyone

Just a quick post....hubby and I are away on a little holiday, but we are making our way home now and should be home either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning from Far North Queensland. We are in Bowen tonight.

I wanted to let you know that our theme night for Noosa will be "70's DISCO".  I'm sure this theme will be a lot fun and you can either go way out with your costume or keep it simple.  Who knows, some of us may have a pair of flairs or hot pants in the wardrobe!!

We still have a few spaces left,so if you have a friend or two that is thinking of coming along, then they are most welcome.

I will be in contact with you all soon re the class requirements for Cathy's class.

Take care for now, Ann :-)
